After careful consideration, the board of the Portland Performing Arts Festival has decided to suspend the  schedule of Festival events slated for June 2013. Although its current finances are healthy, the Festival’s fundraising projections show shortfalls against the expenses required to mount a truly significant event.

It has been our intention all along to create an organization that excelled artistically and thrived financially; after monitoring and reassessing our financials, the board’s members collectively feel that the responsible next step is to suspend 2013 performance operations rather than take on risk that may not be supportable over the next year. No decisions have been made regarding a Festival schedule for 2014. The Festival board wishes to thank all of its donors, attendees, volunteers, and supporters.  We are sincerely grateful to you and will keep you informed of developments.
